Storm on the Horizon is a landscape work which was inspired by desert monsoon storms. It shows how vital rain is to our desert landscape. This work may look dark, but it is really about life to what we call home in this desert. This landscape with dramatic clouds was painted to inspire and give hope.
As you would imagine, the desert is full of archaeological and palaeontological wonders. Along with 6000-year-old megalithic stone circles and Saharan rock paintings, unique dinosaur fossils have been found by scientists. As recently as last year, the fossilised remains of an 80-million-year-old dinosaur were found in a Saharan oasis.
